Dfinity Plans Far-reaching Projects

DFINITY USADfinity USA, the company behind the Internet Computer, has several major projects planned that will extend its reach and functionality. Founded in 2016, this project takes coding and the internet to the next level. Its founder, Dominic Williams, started the company with the idea of returning the computing power of the internet to the people who use it. To accomplish this audacious mission, he raised funds through an ICO and airdrop, and he used them to establish the Dfinity Foundation. The nonprofit administers the funds to educators and students who participate in workshops and fellowships for learning how to code.

Growth of the Internet Computer

Dfinity USA originally called its project the Dfinity Computer, but now it is known as the Internet Computer. It grew from a few hundred nodes its first year to about 5,000 in early 2022. Each node is controlled by an independent operator. Nodes process data. Anybody can request code to be run on the Internet Computer, and they pay for it with tokens. The node operators get the tokens and use them to vote on projects. Blockchain runs the project, but it is a public blockchain with more transparency than what the server farms offer. The advantages of the Internet Computer include open-source coding, enhanced accessibility, more privacy and better speed and security.

Upcoming Projects for the Internet Computer

In the past week, Dfinity USA announced several plans for 2022. It will roll out Bitcoin and Ethereum integrations by the end of the first quarter. These integrations would eliminate the need for a bridge. Although there is already an Ethereum bridge, the use of bridges set up a possibility for malicious activities. The planned integration will be part of the Internet Computer’s Chromium Satoshi Release, and it is due by March 31, 2022.

DFINITY USAOn February 1, the Huobi Incubator announced a partnership with the Dfinity Foundation. This partnership will enable scaled decentralized apps (“dapps”) on the Web3 interface. Dapps planned for the partnership include gaming, social media, native asset transfers and marketing and community engagement solutions that will extend to industries that have yet to incorporate blockchain.
