I began writing online somewhere around 2008. It was a humble blog on WordPress with a theme I barely knew how to edit. I wrote daily. About the pains of life, the perspective shifts I currently learned, the views that had helped my journey. I completely disregarded keyword research, tags, SEO, anything that might have helped it grow. And yet, it grew.
Around 2011 I started a fashion blog called Rock.Paper.Glam. I had a mentor who taught me the ins and outs of blogging. From photostock, to legal pages, and of course, the importance of social media. I worked two other jobs as I began to build my business. My edge was that I studied and worked in fashion prior to writing about it. I understood trend forecasting, fabrics, pricepoints and consumers. I eventually was invited to The United Nations to cover sustainable fashion. I worked with Google for six years showcasing their latest hardware as I covered New York Fashion Week. I worked with countless makeup brands as well as fashion brands. I was at the height of my career, having achieved everything I ever dreamed of, when I realized... I was completely and overwhelmingly burnt out.
So. I quit. I began designing templates and sharing them on Etsy. I turned everything I learned from the years I blogged into digital assets to sell to new entrepreneurs. That business, which I still run, sells in 48 countries, and continues to grow. I am passionate about design, but at the end of the day, I miss writing.
Which is where this new chapter begins, and I am beyond grateful to have you here for the ride!
